Why You Should Choose Schiff Gorman LLC
A significant percentage of our work involves legal malpractice. As a result, both potential clients and attorneys contact us for advice. What we have discovered is that some lawyers do not always comply with the Rules of Professional Conduct including one or more of the following requirements:
Competence requires the legal knowledge, skill, thoroughness and preparation necessary for providing representation. This is set forth in Rule 1.1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
At Schiff Gorman LLC, we limit our practice areas. This has allowed us to develop the experience in select areas of the law. It is why other lawyers have given us the highest rating for ability and ethics as demonstrated in the A.V. rating found in Martindale Hubbell. It is why we have been admitted to several organizations that are by invitation only. It is why we have been requested to publish on aspects of the law pertinent to the selected areas of our practice.
Diligence is the recognition that it is imperative to act promptly in advancing the client’s cause. Justice delayed is justice denied.
At Schiff Gorman LLC, our experience is that pushing the client’s case brings about results. Those who defend cases are all too willing to drag out the case whereby the injured person loses interest or witnesses, records and other evidence wilt, become inaccessible or simply lost.
Communication requires the lawyer to keep a client reasonably informed about the status of the matter and promptly comply with reasonable requests for information. It also requires the lawyer to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary for the client to make informed decisions.
Perhaps nowhere else do we see complaints from clients due to their former counsel providing incomplete, limited or ineffectual advice or reports on the matter for which they were retained.
At Schiff Gorman LLC, we always have two lawyers assigned to every case. We do this so that there is always the ability to keep the client informed. In addition, we invested heavily in technology in order to communicate with our clients by electronic mail including forwarding pertinent documents. This provides timely updates on the status of the matter. Lastly, we provide direct dial access to each lawyer assigned to your case. There is no need to go through a switchboard, explain why calling in order to get advice or updates.
OUR VIEW: You have entrusted to us a single matter that is important to you. Accordingly, we treat this matter as being equally important to us. And, our clients become our friends. We do not merely end our relationship when our legal services are complete. Rather, we make effort to keep both our current clients and our former clients updated on the law and on their status.
